This could be a perfect time to consider selling home-related products and other DIY tools.

As the stamp duty deadline comes, added with savings made during lockdowns, eBay Ads UK has predicted that home movers and home improvement customers will be a major audience among brands beginning this September. This comes with eBay Ads UK's research that those who participated in the survey denotes that they are expected to invest £5,270.00 on average just for new home purchases.

This comes to numbers that customers will likely buy sofas and beds (54%) and household appliances (53%). Not only that, but 39% of those surveyed prefers renovating a property than purchasing a fully done house, with 35% considers DIY equipment as a priority and 19% will purchase refurbished, second hand, or recycled items.

Over half (56%) of the 500 Brits surveyed have declared that they plan on moving in the next 6 months, which lately has been sped up due to savings consumers made during the lockdown, has allowed consumers to move sooner, or purchase a larger property.

Backing up this research is that there is a surge of searches in Home, Furniture, and DIY category last 28th of March - three days before the original stamp duty deadline - and the whole of March 2021 leading to the deadline, 81 searches were made in the category every second.

Harmony Murphy, GM Advertising UK at eBay, has said:
This September will be a key moment for home movers, potentially marking a final rush of house purchases as the stamp duty holiday comes to a close. With so much to think about and buy when it comes to moving, many people don’t know where to start. This presents an important opportunity for brands to help people find and do everything that they need. By using data to understand customers, brands can solve problems for home movers rather than simply selling.
